Experience
Kathy began her legal career as a commercial litigator with Wright Webb Syrett who merged with Davenport Lyons in 1995. Kathy began specialising in employment law in 1995 and became Head of the Employment Group at Davenport Lyons in 1996 and a partner of the firm in January 1998.
Under Kathy’s leadership and guidance, the Employment Group developed into a stand-alone department in 2001. The department was described by Legal 500 as an up and coming department in 2002 and obtained a Legal 500 ranking for the first time a year later.
Kathy is very experienced in all areas of employment law and in the last few years before leaving Davenport Lyons, she acted as the firm’s HR Partner providing legal advice to the firm and regularly advising on strategy and workplace issues. This has given Kathy significant experience in considering employment issues from the employer’s perspective and enables her to understand workplace problems, not just as a legal practitioner.
Kathy also speaks at many training workshops and seminars on all areas of employment law to clients and to external organisations. Feedback given following these workshops describe Kathy as ”a first class presenter”, and “engaging and professional”.
